On Wednesday, September 24, Banca Sella‘s headquarters in Brescia hosted the event ‘Businesses without borders – Between Internationalization, Digitalization, and Sustainability’, which brought together experts, consultants, and entrepreneurs to reflect on the new challenges that the global context poses to the business world.
Focus on the Current International Scenario
After a welcome reception, the session opened with institutional greetings from Banca Sella, followed by a presentation by Stella Occhialini, Board Member of Roncucci&Partners, who led the audience through a geopolitical reading of the current international scenario. Her lucid analysis emphasized the need, now more than ever, to combine skills, planning, and innovation in order to tackle markets in constant transformation.

Round table: Digitalization, Internationalization, and sustainability
The heart of the event was the round table, divided into two parts.
Digital tools and new opportunities for exports
In the first, with Andrea Massitti, Silva Marazzi, and Federico Rubini, the discussion focused on digital tools to support exports – from artificial intelligence to business intelligence and augmented reality – and how sustainability can become a competitive advantage, while helping companies manage risks with innovative approaches.

Comparing Business Experiences
The second round table featured two very different businesses: MTM Energia, which specializes in cogeneration plants from renewable sources, and Appetais Group, a long-established company in the food sector. The testimonials of their representatives, engineers Michele Torretta and Renato Bonaglia, offered concrete ideas and inspiration on how, despite coming from different sectors and sizes, it is possible to share common values such as sustainability, digitalization, attention to talent, and innovation. They shared anecdotes and described initiatives to support innovation and attract qualified resources, since companies are mainly made up of people.

The comparison between strategic visions and practical experiences made it clear that internationalization can no longer be considered an option, but a real necessity to ensure growth. Digitalization, on the one hand, and sustainability, on the other, represent two essential levers for tackling foreign markets and consolidating the competitiveness of Italian companies.

The meeting ended with a networking aperitif, a valuable opportunity to strengthen ties and stimulate new collaborations. In an informal and constructive atmosphere, participants were able to exchange ideas and impressions, taking home not only new knowledge, but also the enthusiasm of feeling part of an entrepreneurial community that looks to the future with courage and responsibility.
A Workshop of Inspiration
“Businesses without borders” thus proved to be not only a moment of in-depth discussion, but also a workshop of inspiration: an invitation to rethink the role of companies in a world without barriers, where innovation and sustainability become the real passport to growth and international competition.
